Christmas get-together 2018

The school of Religion & Philosophy Minhaj University Lahore arranged a grand ceremony in harmony with the Christian community to celebrate the Christmas Day. The Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman BOG, Dr. Shahid Soroya, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Herman Roborgh, HOD School of Religion & Philosophy and along with the other faculties’ members of MUL sliced the Christmas cake and extended warm greetings to the Christian community.

Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman BOG-MUL at this occasion in his felicitation message stated, “Mere reading of books is not enough to accumulate wisdom and understanding about other religions. In this respect, MUL is pioneer to integrate and developing the department of School of Religion & Philosophy. This department played a key role in creating a congenial atmosphere of fellow- ship”.

He further added, “Keeping in view the doctrines of Jesus Christ that of Peace and Adherence to each religion in the world. It is a matter of great pride for us that Pakistan stands supreme in promoting equality and citizenship rights for every human without any discrimination of religion, cast, race and sect. Pakistan is a country where all the minorities under the umbrella of Pakistani flag is committed to make Pakistan a country of prosperity and success. He emphasized that it is the vision and mission of Shaykh -ul-Islam, Prof. Dr. M. Tahir-ul-Qadri, Chairman Board of Governor-MUL to flourish in the world the message of Peace by discarding prejudice, grudges and sectarianism.”

Dr. Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, Vice Chancellor-MUL, in his greeting message thanked the guest for their participation. He spotlighted that the School of Religion & Philosophy is a unique department where four main religions are taught. The teachers belonging to each religion with sense of dedication teach these subjects with essence of follow-ship.

Dr. Naeem Mushtaq, Director Aghosh Complex and one of the senior students of the School of Religion & Philosophy in his address lauded the efforts of Minhaj University and School of Religion & Philosophy to celebrate such a memorable event. He added that MUL is an established trend setter by organizing international conferences. This event is another landmark of MUL.

Dr. Herman Roborgh, HOD, School of Religion & Philosophy in his welcome address expressed his thanks to all the distinguished guests for their auspicious presence. After the greeting message, he stated that the ultimate objective of the School of Religion & Philosophy is to create harmony among various religions. We wish that masses from all sectors should come to join our department and develop deep understanding about every religion without any feeling of tarnishing any religion.
