Rules & Regulation

STUDENT CONDUCT

Academic:

  1. Student must be punctual and regular in the class attendance. Minimum 80 % attendance in all subjects in a session will qualify him for sitting in final examination.
  2. Students will follow the course out lines/ scheme of studies issued by Minhaj University, Lahore.
  3. Students must pass ‘send-up’ examination with minimum 45 % aggregate for eligibility to sit in the final exam.
  4. Ill discipline and misconduct with faculty members of the University and fellow students will render a student liable to disciplinary action comprising fine, expulsion or rustication depending upon the nature and gravity of offence.
  5. A two hour motivational program per week based on lectures of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Chairman Board of Governors, Minhaj University, Lahore is arranged for students for better understanding of Islamic values and religious grooming. Attendance of all students is compulsory.

Administrative:

1. Students must follow the dress code of the Campus. Women students must wear full grown an scarf or shilwar kamiz (full sleve) with Dopata. Boy must wear shirt & pant or shilwar kamiz with waist coat.

2. All dues must be cleared by the date indicated in the schedule of the payment of dues, which is normally 10th of the month in which payment is due.

Late clearance of dues will have following fines.

i) After due date Rs.10 per day for 5 days

ii) Expulsion from the class after 5 days default and Rs 40 per day fine till allowed re-joining the classes after clearance of dues with in 10 days from the date of expulsion.

iii) Strike off rolls after 15 days of default normally 25th of the month in which payment was due.

iv) Students of category (iii) above may seek one-time re-registration by paying Rs.2000-5000 at the discretion of the University.

  1. Students must attend all the classes regularly in their own interest to avoid fine. However the students absenting themselves from the class will be fined (i). Rs.10 per period (ii).Rs.40 per day.

i) The name of the student will be strike off the rolls after 15 days of continuous absence without leave. One time readmission however, may be allowed by paying Rs. 2000-5000 as re-registration fee.

  1. Students must take care of the University, property, preserve it and avoid any damage. In case of any damage to the property including library books, furniture, laboratory equipment, hostel property etc, the loss will be made good by the students involved in damaging the property.
  2. Leave is generally restricted to 2-3 days in dire necessity. Students are advised to plan family visits/functions during the closure of University for Winter/Summer/ end of semester vacation to avoid absence from the classes.
  3. Students must be in possession of Minhaj University, Lahore ID card at all times and produce the card for verification on demand by the University, faculty/staff or any govt. official dealing with.
  4. Use of mobile phones or carrying the phone in the class room, library, and laboratory is propitiated.
  5. Students must make themselves conversant with detailed the University, rules and regulations for academics, discipline and hostel and abide by these in letter and spirit.

CLASS ATTENDANCE

  1. A candidate with less than 80% of the attendance in lectures and practical (if applicable) separately shall be considered fail (F) in that course. He will be eligible to take that course next year.
  2. The absence as a result of late admission or change of course will also be treated as mentioned in the above rule.
  3. Such students must be notified one day before the examination week and such students shall not be allowed to appear in the final test of the course.

EVALUATION SYSTEM

  1. The teacher is responsible for the evaluation of work/performance of the students of his class and for the award of grades to them on the basis of such evaluation.

  1. The weightage of the test and assignment/Sessional work will be as follows:
a) Mid term (test) 25%
b) Assignment/Sessional work 25%
c) Final term (test) 50%
