Ammara Maqsood is a Senior Lecturer in English at the School of Business Management, Minhaj University Lahore, where she has established a distinguished decade-long career in higher education. As an academic professional, she seamlessly blends deep literary and linguistic expertise with robust leadership and organizational acumen. Her core mission is to contribute effectively to dynamic and challenging work environments by leveraging her academic credentials, proven mentorship skills, and an unwavering commitment to both student success and institutional growth. Currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Linguistics, Ammara holds an MPhil and an MA in English Literature from Minhaj University and Punjab University, respectively. Her research impact is substantial and growing. She has published over 15 research papers in HEC-recognized Y-category journals and recently co-authored a groundbreaking study titled "Human vs. Generative Artificial Intelligence in Writing Assessment: Investigating Feedback Alignment, Score Validity, and Teacher Agency," which has been accepted for publication in the prestigious journal Educational Assessment, Evaluation and Accountability (Springer). This collaborative international research—co-authored with scholars Tanzeela Anbreen, Tuba Özturan, and Prithvi Shrestha—investigates the correlation between human and ChatGPT-5 scoring on IELTS writing tasks, contrasts their feedback justifications using Kane's validity framework, and explores teacher agency through Priestley's ecological model. The findings advocate for a hybrid assessment model that blends GenAI-led surface-level evaluation with human-led cognitive, critical, and contextual evaluation. Ammara has presented her research at international conferences in Pakistan, Indonesia, and has supervised over 40 MPhil theses alongside numerous BS and MA research projects. Her pedagogical approach focuses on simplifying complex literary and linguistic concepts, guiding students through rigorous semester-long research projects, and refining their academic writing through iterative draft reviews. Beyond the classroom, Ammara is a dynamic leader and institutional pillar. She serves as the Head of the Seekers Club (8+ years), Deputy Editor of the MUL Newsletter, Secretary of the Event Management Committee, Head of multiple societies (Literary & Debating, Dramatics, Character-Building), and Sports Coordinator (Female). Her extensive coordination experience includes serving on key committees such as Discipline, QEC, and the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy 2020. She has been instrumental in organizing international conferences on Social Responsibility, World Religions, and Islamic Economics, as well as national declamation contests, anti-corruption awareness campaigns, seminars on women's identity, and cultural events. Ammara's commitment extends to community engagement, where she has organized blood donation and medical camps with NGOs and led awareness seminars on breast cancer, thalassemia, and women empowerment. She is also a trained professional, having completed a 6-month USEFP-Kinnaird College training program on Globalization Research and Teaching of American Literature. A skilled debater and athlete (cricket, table tennis, badminton), she brings the same energy to sports coordination and student mentorship. With a unique combination of research excellence, administrative leadership, and a passion for holistic student development, Ammara Maqsood stands out as a results-driven academic ready to take on challenging roles that demand strategic thinking, empathy, and execution.
