Introduction

The shrimp aquaculture industry has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sectors in global seafood production, driven by increasing demand and technological advancements. This short course is designed to equip participants with theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to engage in sustainable shrimp farming, from Broodstock selection to post-harvest handling. The course will focus on environmentally responsible and economically viable shrimp farming practices, emphasizing water quality management, disease prevention, ethical harvesting, and value-chain development. Through a mix of lectures, case studies, field visits, and practical assignments, learners will gain a holistic understanding of the shrimp farming industry.
