M.Phil Mathematics

Introduction

M. Phil in Mathematics is a 30 credit hours program of studies spread over four semesters. It offers a flexible frame work including scheme of courses covering major areas of pure and applied Mathematics like Algebra, Analysis, Topology, Computational Mathematics and Foundations of Mathematics. The rules and regulations and evaluation scheme for this program, will be the same as those given in the University Academic Rules for Graduate Programs.

Objectives

  • To develop advanced understanding of mathematical concepts, theories, techniques and analysis across various field of Mathematics, including abstract algebra, analysis, advanced differential equations, and topology.
  • To enable students to specialize in a particular area of Mathematics according to their interests and career goals in both pure and applied Mathematics such as algebraic geometry, algebraic number theory, advanced mathematical physics, artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling area through advanced coursework and research.
  • To prepare students to publish their research papers in HEC recognized journals, present their research work at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
